What is Internet of Things?
Internet of things (IoT)
It is a network where all devices are connected to each other by using software, sensors etc. using which they can collect and exchange data between them.
It is a system where machines or objects are connected to each other on a network without human intervention. It can offer advance connectivity that covers various protocols, domains, applications etc.
Here, “Things” can refer to various devices like cameras, fitness monitoring devices, automobiles, biological analysis devices, wearable devices, smart devices which collects lots and lots of data using hardware, software, sensor and services.
Is it secured?
IoT devices collect many types of data using various sensors making them smarter. Since, all devices are interconnected they can share your data to another device. Just take on example if you are using any wearable device which will monitor your heart rate then it can share your data with marketers selling heart related devices. So, here security or privacy of your data becomes major concern.

Multiple types of communication protocols are available which uses IoT. Many types of protocols are available like Infrastructure, Data protocols, Multi Layer Framework etc. Bluetooth, WiFi, Cellular Network, NFC etc are some major communication technologies available.
If car is connected to internet then it can share data collected by its sensor like if there is any faulty part then it can share it to owner with more details like next garage stop and distance. Cab services are also using it for having connectivity with all vehicles at same time by using GPS and their own software. Google, Tesla such big companies are also using IoT for self driven car by using many types of data from multiple sensors.
3. Home Automation:
Nowadays, home automation is also in boom. Almost, all devices used in home are becoming smarter like just take an example of Smart Bulb, Smart Fan, Printer, Smart Refrigerator etc. Using IoT, all devices can share data with each other by giving more control on them.
IoT devices use in healthcare industry is also increasing. IoT Devices are used to monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and pacemaker. Here, IoT can also be used to increase the interaction of doctor with patient. Hospitals are also using IoT to maintain daily patient reports, medical inventories.
